School

When creating the Domik, we decided to maximize the socialization and integration of children into society, so that the day of each foster-child would be like the day of an ordinary child in the family.
For each of our foster-children, school is not entertainment and not a way to fill time. For them, this is an important stage on the way to a full–fledged life; an opportunity to participate in society, develop social and communication skills, gain knowledge necessary in everyday life and become more independent every day.
For example, Vika talks a lot today and enjoys talking, is interested in everything that is happening around her, paying attention to details and particulars. And a few years ago, she couldn’t say a word and didn’t know anything about the world around her.
Feruza didn’t know a single letter or number until recently, and she didn’t understand why a person needed them at all. And now she enjoys studying well and excellently, confidently uses a computer and knows that her efforts are the key to success.
Through schoolwork, Tosha discovers a world of new possibilities and a smiling face. A few years ago, he wasn’t interested in anything and could stare at one point for hours. And today, he is well–versed in alternative communication, masters global reading and counting, is fond of animation and loves magazines about interiors and cars.
Attending school has a beneficial effect on the overall development and the psycho-emotional state of all our special students.
But a child with severe developmental disabilities and weak adaptive abilities cannot be alone in class. He needs constant support and support from a close adult who will help him feel more confident, overcome the fear of the new and unknown, adapt to the proposed conditions and improve the assimilation of educational material.
