18 years. Intellectual limitations; chromosome breakage

I got to The Domik in 2015, when I was 8. I have Down’s syndrome and other developmental disorders. Before moving here I’ve spent all the time in bed with railings, so I could do almost nothing: I couldn’t even smile. I was afraid of adults and tried not to let them get close to me.

My life in the The Domik is quite different. At first it was very difficult for me to understand why anyone would need all those: classes, communication, travelling. But after a while, I suddenly felt interested, started making small discoveries and gradually fell in love with the world around me. Now I often smile and even laugh, enjoy communicating and playing with folks. I learned a lot: and what is most important, I have my significant adult. We spend time together, go out shopping, to the movies or to the coffee shop.

I also go to school: I master global reading, counting and sign language.

I believe that I still have a great future!
