I couldn’t walk, communicate, and express my wishes. Moreover I didn’t want anything. As a matter of fact I can hardly recall that time, as if it was a long time ago.
I was 9, when I came to The Domik in 2015. After my moving here, I began to study with teachers and different specialists. I learnt to walk and communicate with gestures. Now I have a lot of desires and I do my best for adults to understand me correctly. To make it easier for them, I learn to speak and can already say some words!
They say I’m doing progress in my studies. But I am more interested in applying the knowledge gained in the real world. For example, I practice my counting skills when I make sure for everyone is given equal amount of gingerbread or cookies for snack, and I use global reading when I review books and magazines.
When people ask me which season I love the most, I find it difficult to answer… After all, I have my birthday in spring and guests come over to our The Domik: we eat cake and have fun. In winter I am very much looking forward to the New Year and Christmas, always ordering gifts. But probably most of all I love summer, because we all go to the summer camp. And it’s so exciting: we travel by train and by bus, walk in the woods, make camp fires and grill bread, play games and sing songs outdoors — there are so many things to remember all year round!
