I came to The Domik in 2015 when I was 15. At that time I could do nearly nothing: I was spending almost all time in bed because of the 4th degree scoliosis. I could get around only in a wheelchair. Though, I could eat with a spoon without assistance, but very slowly. I was also underweight and had a gamine hairstyle.

After moving to The Domik I was immediately made a spinal support, a set of special exercises had been worked out for me, which at first were very difficult for me to do. But in 2 years I gradually gained weight, grew up a little and my muscles got stronger. And then our doctors and tutors decided that it was high time! They started teaching me talking. At first it was very scary and unusual, but I made it! And now I am completely independent – I can go anywhere I like! I underwent a serious operation at the age of 17- my gnathopalatoschisis had been sewn up.

Now I really want to learn talking, so I study with a speech and language therapist. Finally, I realized what communication is for, learnt to express my wishes and emotions, to defend my point of view!  

I made friends and found different interests. I like playing with folks, I help adults around the house, go out, go to school and to the swimming pool.

Tutors say that I have grown up a lot and turned into a real lady with character! I can knit brows and scold our boys a little, if they mess around. But I’m warming up quickly!

Like any girl, I love accessories and beautiful hairstyles, I examine myself in the mirror with interest, and if I like the look, I nod and clap my hands.

Come to think of it, I love my life and sincerely rejoice at every new day!
